CLOS DU MARQUIS 2011 (From Bordeaux)
HK $ 438.00 HK $ 438.00 438.0 HKD
Tasting Notes :
Now a completely separate entity from Leoville Las Cases, Clos du Marquis is produced from Las Cases vineyards, but only from those that are outside the famous walled sector (referred to as Le Clos), which are reserved for Leoville Las Cases. The 2011 Clos du Marquis, which is meant to compete with second growths, possesses a dark ruby/plum color along with classic black cherry and black currant fruit intermixed with hints of minerality and spice. This pure, medium-bodied, well-endowed beauty can be drunk over the next 10-15 years. (Robert M. Parker, Jr.)
LAFITE ROTHSCHILD 2014 (From Bordeaux)
HK $ 37,008.00 HK $ 37,008.00 37008.0 HKD
Tasting Notes :
The 2014 Lafite-Rothschild, tasted with head winemaker Eric Kohler, has retained that very opulent and outgoing bouquet that dare I say actually reminded me of Mouton-Rothschild. There are layers of blackberry and boysenberry fruit, still that hint of juniper berry, certainly a more extrovert Lafite-Rothschild compared to recent vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, very focused and quite linear, again with plenty of black fruit laced with cedar and tobacco. It begins to clam up towards the saline finish, suggesting that it will need several years in bottle, but I still have high expectations for this First Growth once afforded several years in bottle. LES FORTS DE LATOUR 2014 (From Bordeaux)
HK $ 10,608.00 HK $ 10,608.00 10608.0 HKD
Tasting Notes :
he 2014 Les Forts de Latour is a blend of 71.4% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28.6% Merlot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it needs a little coaxing to reveal expanding scents of blackcurrant pastilles, baked plums and boysenberries with suggestions of wood smoke, fragrant earth, cast-iron pan and charcuterie plus a faint waft of black truffles. Medium-bodied, the earthy/savory palate has loads of lively black fruit with a refreshing line and firm, grainy tannins, finishing on a lingering ferrous note. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)
PETIT CHEVAL 2012 (From Bordeaux)
HK $ 8,448.00 HK $ 8,448.00 8448.0 HKD
Tasting Notes :
Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux tasting. The 2012 Le Petit Cheval has a low-key nose that might be lost in the crowd of its more ostentatious peers, but it is well-defined with beautifully integrated oak, briary and graphite aromas developing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, a keen line of acidity and an almost Left Bank finish that deserves a round of applause. Under blind conditions, I was not the only one to give this one of my most positive comments against the "big boys." Not to be underestimated. Tasted January 2016. (Neal Martin)
RAUZAN SEGLA 1990
HK $ 26,256.00 HK $ 26,256.00 26256.0 HKD
Tasting Notes :
A complex nose of subtle menthol intermixed with black currants, cherries, spice box, cedar, and herbs emerges from this fully mature 1990. It is a fleshy, round, generously endowed Margaux with silky tannins, low acidity, and beautiful purity. Drink it with great pleasure now, or cellar it for another decade. (Robert M. Parker, Jr.)
LALANDE BORIE 2014 (From Bordeaux)
HK $ 298.00 HK $ 298.00 298.0 HKD
Tasting Notes :
The 2014 Lalande-Borie is one of those wines you want to give a gentle kick up the backside. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with this Saint Julien, but it seems to be coasting, not putting in the effort to please you or I. It offers light leafy, brambly red berry fruit on the nose, nicely defined but missing a little intensity. Likewise the palate is balanced and quite elegant, yet I was seeking more body and greater sense of energy on the finish. As such, I would be drinking this over the next seven or eight years, no longer. (Neal Martin)
BEYCHEVELLE 2017 (From Bordeaux)
HK $ 11,976.00 HK $ 11,976.00 11976.0 HKD
Tasting Notes :
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Beychevelle has a fragrant, floral nose with warm cassis, preserved plums and Morello cherries plus earth, herbs and cinnamon touches. Medium-bodied, it has lovely expression with firm, fine grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and mineral laced. The wine was aged for 18 months in French oak, 60% new and 40% second fill. The final blend is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Fifty-two percent of the production was dedicated to the grand vin, with 240,000 bottles produced. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)
CLERC MILON 2009 (From Bordeaux)
HK $ 12,576.00 HK $ 12,576.00 12576.0 HKD
Tasting Notes :
Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2009 Clerc Milon gives up notes of blueberry compote, blackcurrant preserves and prunes with hints of fried herbs, fertile loam and pencil lead. Medium-bodied, firm and taut with a grainy texture and seamless freshness, it has a good core of earth-laced black fruit and an understated finish. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)
COS D'ESTOURNEL 2001 (From Bordeaux)
HK $ 18,816.00 HK $ 18,816.00 18816.0 HKD
Tasting Notes :
The 2001 Cos d'Estournel is blended of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot—a very high percentage of Merlot in this vintage and a very late harvest, which started on October 1st. Deep garnet in color, the nose is singing with savory notes of smoked meats, tapenade, bay leaves and beef drippings with a core of plum preserves, redcurrant jelly, dried cherries and baked blackcurrants with wafts of peppermint tea and dried roses. Medium-bodied, the palate practically tingles with vibrant dried herbs, red fruit preserves and minty notes, structured with firm, finely grained tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing very long and minerally. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)
MOUTON ROTHSCHILD 2016 (From Bordeaux)
HK $ 36,768.00 HK $ 36,768.00 36768.0 HKD
Tasting Notes :
Composed of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, the 2016 Mouton Rothschild has an opaque garnet-purple color. WOW—the nose explodes from the glass with powerful blackcurrant cordial, black raspberries, blueberry pie and melted chocolate notions, plus suggestions of aniseed, camphor, lifted kirsch and the faintest waft of a subtle floral perfume in the background. Full-bodied, concentrated, bold and totally seductive in the mouth, it has very fine-grained, silt-like tannins, while jam-packed with tightly wound fruit layers, finishing in this wonderful array of mineral sparks. Magic. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)
LAFITE ROTHSCHILD 2014 (From Bordeaux)

FLEUR CARDINALE 2014 (From Bordeaux)
HK $ 338.00 HK $ 338.00 338.0 HKD
Tasting Notes :
The 2014 Fleur Cardinale is located in Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse, the vines populating the lieu-dit of Thibaud. it has a powerful, rich and decadent bouquet bestowed with licorice and boysenberry jam. The palate is medium-bodied with muscular tannin, good depth, fine acidity with a structured and quite spicy finish that replicates the showing from barrel. Enjoy this over the next 8-10 years. (Neal Martin)
GISCOURS 2014 (From Bordeaux)
HK $ 448.00 HK $ 448.00 448.0 HKD
Tasting Notes :
The 2014 Giscours has come on leaps and bounds since I tasted it twice in barrel. It is clearly more sophisticated and complex than the du Tertre on the nose. For a start, there is more fruit concentration with red cherries, raspberry and blackcurrant laced with cedar and graphite. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, pure red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit with a precise finish that the property never used to be able to offer. This is a lovely Margaux that should drink well for 20 years. (Robert M. Parker, Jr.)
